We have collated a range of information and resources from various organisations here for you to access. Staying safe and independent
UnitingCare’s Elder Abuse Prevention Unit produced a video series targeting elder abuse prevention and how to stay safe and independent. These videos are available in English, Mandarin, Italian and Amharic.

Advance Care Planning
The Office of Advance Care Planning hosts informational brochures on the topic of advance care planning.
Office of the Public Guardian services for adults
The Office of the Public Guardian has fact sheets in various languages, which explain how its service provides for adults with impaired decision making capacity.
Domestic and family violence
The Australian Government has ‘family safety packs’ in 46 languages which provide information on a range of family and domestic violence issues, including those specific to people from diverse cultural background.
Accessing an immediate phone interpreter
Non-English speakers can use the Translating and Interpreting Service to access immediate phone interpreters or make a booking. Most of the time this will be free to access. There are some factsheets accessible via the website which help explain many of the common questions and are available in a variety of languages.
